On my hand, I wear a ring that belonged to my grandfather that he bought in the nineteen-fifties. This object reminds me of him, of the role of family in my life, and of the way that we carry with us those who came before us. Objects have more power than we know, and we bestow on them meaning as well as beauty. Here, I hope to reveal some of each of these things.
